One could say it all took off on YouTube for Daves Highway.
The Mississippi-based, sibling trio – comprised of Delaney, Zachary and Erika Daves – started out in 2009 by posting some home performance videos online. Since then, Daves Highway has garnered more than 8 million views on YouTube and a strong following on social media. The best way to describe the trio is a mix of country and rock with a taste of Gospel as well.
The Daves siblings have impeccable harmonies and blend really well together. According to its website, the trio released its first studio EP in 2009, produced by Grammy Award-winning producer, Charlie Peacock, that included a version of the hit Chris Tomlin song “Jesus Messiah.” Daves Highway’s cover of the song peaked at No. 25 on the Amazon MP3 Christian chart and exploded online, even catching the attention of Tomlin himself.Since then, Daves Highway has released two full length studio albums and is set to release an acoustic Christmas album on Tuesday.
A Brand New Day, the trio’s latest project, features 14 great songs that show just how much the Daves siblings have grown over the years. The video below is an “updated” cover of Needtobreathe’s “Washed By The Water” which is included on Daves Highway’s A Brand New Day. Coincidentally, this is the first song I ever heard the Daves siblings perform and it immediately made me a fan of this trio. Have a listen!
