George Ezra’s “Budapest” has reached the Top 10 in the U.K., Germany and Italy.
It’s a hit in many other countries as well including Australia and New Zealand and Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) is calling it the “song of the summer.” But what makes this latest tune from Brit, Ezra, so great? How about the brilliantly-penned lyrics or Ezra’s unique vocal style? I could go on.
The 21-year-old Hertford, England, U.K. singer-songwriter has amassed a huge fan base in his home country and beyond in just a couple years. Ezra’s debut album Wanted On Voyage was released on June 30 and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). “Budapest” – a single off the album and also included on the EP Did You Hear The Rain? – was certified gold by the BPI and four other recording associations around the world as well as a platinum certification by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry (FIMI).
Ezra’s ingenious music is beginning to trickle its way into the U.S. and was deemed the iTunes Single of the Week for August 19.
Lend an ear to this catchy tune!
