NMM: Minor Soul

This week’s New Music Monday features a duo that’s quickly rising in popularity – and, of course, creating some awesome music.

Minor Soul was started by two brothers: Max and Jack Wagner. The brothers have a very cool background, being born in London, England of both English and American parents. The brothers grew up, as the duo’s website says, “in a high-rise overlooking Hong Kong’s storied waterfront.”
The Wagner brothers say they’re influenced by a number of musicians such as Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Coldplay. According to Minor Soul’s website, the duo started recording some music at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, Calif. with Dave Stewart – formerly of the Eurythmics – in the summer of 2011. Minor Soul has also worked with ASCAP-winning songwriter, Toby Gad, producing the song “Streets of New York.” Currently based in New York, the duo is quickly rising into industry prominence. Minor Soul separates itself from other duos with lyrics that are true to the brothers’ roots and very cool vocals as well.
Have a listen to one of Minor Soul’s new tunes from the duo’s awesome album – Tiger – below!
