Tori Kelly is quickly climbing the charts and making a name for herself in the industry. The 22-year-old singer-songwriter has several releases on iTunes both as a solo and contributing artist. That includes her new single “Nobody Love” which is surely one that’ll get stuck in your head.
Posting YouTube covers as early as the age of 14, Kelly grew in popularity with her amazing renditions of songs, including her acoustic cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ Bout You” that has garnered more than 22 million views worldwide. Kelly has been a contestant on “Star Search,” “America’s Most Talented Kids” – in which she defeated Hunter Hayes – and “American Idol.”
Kelly released her debut EP entitled Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly in 2012 on her own label Toraay Records. Kelly wrote, recorded, produced and engineered the album herself. The album made the Top 10 Pop Albums list on iTunes at the time of its release. In 2013, Kelly’s manager, Scooter Braun, introduced her to the heads of Capitol Records and Kelly was later signed to the label. Since then, Kelly has released a second EP – Foreword – under the aforementioned label. Kelly has also been the supporting act for Ed Sheeran at Madison Square Garden as well as Sam Smith on his “In The Lonely Hour” tour in the U.K.
Kelly is currently hard at work on her debut, full length album in which “Nobody Love” will be a single. Kelly has worked on the album with the likes of Toby Gad, Pharrell Williams, Max Martin and Ed Sheeran so I’m sure it’s going to be great. Kelly is set to perform on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday night as well so be sure to check that out. Kelly also announced on Twitter that she’ll be going out on a headlining tour – which, unfortunately, will not make a stop here in North Carolina.
Kelly’s voice and artistry are simply outstanding. Words really do not fully grasp how awesome Tori Kelly is. Needless to say, I’m stoked for the new album!
