This week’s New Music Monday is all about an emerging and uplifting band from Nashville, Tenn.

3for3 is a group comprised of Spencer Lloyd, Benji Shuler and Josh Davis who are using their God-given talents to lift people’s spirits – and create some rad music in the process. You may recognize Lloyd from his stint on “American Idol” in 2014, where he ranked in the Top 15. According to its bio, 3for3 has already worked with an array of renowned Contemporary Christian Music writers such as Jordan Sapp, Tony Wood and Ian Eskelin to produce quality music that’s sure to inspire.
Each member originally hails from Tennessee and Arkansas and has shared his talents at church, public events and national platforms – like the aforementioned “American Idol.” It also doesn’t hurt that the group has guidance from family members who have already been successful in the music industry. 3for3 began as a search by industry vet, Mitchell Solarek, of new company Maxx Recordings. Solarek was on the hunt for a new band that had a unique message. Lloyd, Shuler and Davis came together and discovered that they fit Solarek’s vision, thus forming 3for3.
In just its first few months, the band has gained a fairly large fan base and following on social media. 3for3 released its debut EP on July 24 and it has been well-received so far. The five-track EP features “Halfway” an electro-pop sound with beautiful harmonies and catchy lyrics. The tune, co-written by Shuler, also has a great message. As Davis explained about “Halfway” on the band’s website: “We want to express the presence of God’s unconditional love and how He does not love us halfway, He loves us all the way.”

Have a listen to “Halfway” in the video below. Also be sure to download 3for3’s EP here.
