This week’s New Music Monday artist is a talented lady who’s had a long journey to get to where she is now.

Emily West has always had a dream to tell stories and to captivate audiences through her music. According to her bio, West moved to Nashville, Tenn. at 18 to pursue music and experienced some success in the industry. West later decided to move to New York, playing her one-woman show at clubs and theaters in Manhattan. In 2014, West auditioned for the ninth season of “America’s Got Talent” where she immediately became a favorite and ended up placing second. West is now using that platform to continue doing what she loves.
Since “America’s Got Talent” West has been performing at venues across the country – including the legendary stage at the Grand Ole Opry. It was recently announced that West will be included on the “America’s Got Talent” All-Stars Tour that hits select U.S. cities this fall. The tour will feature several fan favorite acts from the show’s 10-year history.

West has also worked steadfastly on a new album. The album, All For You, was just released on Friday and features a mix of cover and original tunes. I have to say, it’s amazing! What West does really, really, well is captivate her audience and sing from the heart. I mean, I really don’t have any negative criticism for the new album. Each of the original songs on the album has its own character while West provides a brilliant interpretation of cover tunes – such as Sia’s “Chandelier” – making them her own.

Have a listen to West’s version of “Chandelier” below and be sure to get her new album!
