Katharine McPhee burst onto the scene during season five of Idol. Since finishing as runner-up on the show, McPhee has gone on to become an accomplished actress and singer, starring on the NBC musical drama Smash, as well as guest star roles on Family Guy, Community and CSI: NY. McPhee currently stars on the hit CBS series Scorpion. On the music side of things, McPhee’s debut single, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/My Destiny,” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart in 2006, according to her website. In 2010, McPhee’s second album, Unbroken, debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200. That was followed by a Christmas album in 2010, which also did really well. According to her website, McPhee’s rendition of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” became a top-five hit for that holiday season.
Now, McPhee is back with yet another album that’s sure to be a hit. In just its first week of release, Hysteria has already received much recognition. The album is featured in the iTunes Pop section and has received a five-star rating from customers. I listened to a preview of Hysteria and I couldn’t find one flaw in it. Yea, it’s that good! This album truly has it all, from beautiful, piano-driven ballads like “Love Strikes” and “Round Your Little Finger” to radio-ready tunes like “Stranger Than Fiction” – which, coincidentally, is the song I’m featuring below.
Have a listen to “Stranger Than Fiction” and check out Hysteria as well!
