I’ll just go ahead and say it: 2016 sucked.
Maybe it’s been okay for you, but I can’t say the same. There haven’t been many bright spots in my life this year. Heck, in the world. For starters, I never realized the amount of change my life was in for at the beginning of this year. I had to grow up fast as I lost both my grandmother and dad, just four months apart from each other. That capped a year filled with suckage, which also included the cancelation of two of my favorite television shows, Castle and American Idol, the Carolina Panthers and UNC Men’s Basketball team coming oh so close but ultimately losing championships, the election, I could go on. It’s hard to find good moments in a whirlwind of bad but there were some. I got my first job out of college, met some cool people, helped out an amazing cause, had a UNC Basketball experience like no other with a buddy of mine and crossed an item off my bucket list.
Despite the handful of good things to happen to me in 2016, I’m definitely ready for 2017. A new year, a fresh start. That being said, my blog is getting a fresh start as well. In January, I plan to move Reflections to my own personal website at reflectcw.com! The new site will serve as a place to showcase my blog, portfolio and photography. Currently, I have my blog on here, my portfolio on WordPress and my photography interspersed on Instagram and both sites. It’s been a goal of mine for quite sometime now to have a unified site to showcase my talents. And let me tell ya, the new site is going to be amazing! It’s clean, professional and just down right awesome.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my time with Blogger. It’s hard to believe that I wrote my first post on this blog eight years ago. It’s also amazing to see how my writing has grown throughout the past eight years. I look back at some of my old posts from time to time and I frequently think to myself, “why did I write that?’ It’s an interesting exercise 🙂 Even though I plan to move Reflections, the content will stay the same. You’ll still see “New Music Monday” and “My Friday Five,” film reviews and much more. I’m stoked for this new beginning and I hope you’ll join me on the journey. See you on the flip side and as always…
