1. Historic Homestand for the Bulls

The Durham Bulls had a historic homestand to open the 2017 season. The week long opener was filled with fun, excitement and more. In all, 52,211 fans came to cheer on the Bulls throughout the week, breaking a previous record set in 2004. Now that’s dedication!

3. FREE Exhibits? FREE Exhibits.

You can see two amazing exhibits for FREE on Monday, April 24. Courtesy of a grant from Duke Energy, the North Carolina Museum of Art will allow visitors to see Ansel Adams Masterworks and Glory of Venice: Renaissance Paintings 1420-1570 free of charge from noon to 8 p.m. Tickets for the exhibitions usually run about $20 so this is a sweet deal! As you may recall, I saw the Ansel Adams exhibit a couple months ago and absolutely loved it. I plan on going Monday to see it again as well as Glory of Venice. 4. Returning to North Carolina

NCAA and ACC Championships will return to North Carolina after a repeal deal for HB2 was reached. Some of the highlights include NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Raleigh and Greensboro, an NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional in Greensboro, as well as the ACC Football Championship in Charlotte and the ACC Baseball Championship in Durham. I, for one, am glad the championships have returned. Not only since I’m a sports fan but the jobs and/or networking opportunities that become available for me and my colleagues when these events come to town. You can read more on that here.

5. Carvana Coming to Raleigh?

Could Raleigh be getting a Carvana Car Vending Machine? It appears so. According to WNCN, the company will not confirm the plans but there are clues all over the city; such as a huge billboard on I-440, a construction site with signs indicating the company and permits that show Carvana is building there.

Now, you’re probably saying: what the heck is a Car Vending Machine? How it works, according to WNCN, is customers go onto the used car dealer’s website or app, choose the car they want and it’s retrieved from the vending machine and ready for pick-up in a couple days. Although the cars are used, Carvana is a way for consumers to skip having to go to a dealership which is pretty convenient as we all know how long the in-person car buying process can be. I’ll keep y’all posted on this one!
