I love discovering new music and artists to cover. This week’s feature is on the band, Wallows. Take a look!

If you’ve ever watched Netflix’s popular series 13 Reasons Why, you may recognize the frontman of this group. Yes, folks, that’s Clay Jensen – a.k.a. Dylan Minnette – who has apapeared in a host of television and film projects in his still young career. I’ve been a fan of his before 13 Reasons Why, but what I didn’t know was Minnette is a talented musician as well.

Wallows is a three-piece, alternative rock band comprised of Minnette, fellow actor Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston. The Los Angeles based band is fairly new to the music scene, having formed at a local music program called “Join the Band.” Wallows played the 2011 Vans Warped Tour shortly thereafter and released its first single, “Pleaser,” in 2017. The band is currently signed to Atlantic Records and just released its major label debut entitled Spring. Plus, the band performed at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro earlier this year, so there’s a nice local connection for you.
