NMM: Lauren Daigle

Let’s keep the new music rolling with an incredible tune from Lauren Daigle.

Let’s keep the new music rolling with an incredible tune from Lauren Daigle.

This incredibly-gifted artist hails from Lafayette, La. and has really burst out on to the Christian music scene as of late. Her first full-length album, How Can It Be, was met with rave reviews, earning her New Artist and Song of the Year honors at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards. Daigle went on to win three more awards the following year and How Can It Be was nominated for a Grammy in 2016 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. But that’s not all. Daigle’s record “Trust in You” was nominated for a Grammy in 2017 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance or Song.

Whew! That’s quite the list of honors for a relatively new artist. But it is all well deserved as there is no denying the sheer talent that Daigle has, both, in songwriting and singing. A new album, Look Up Child, is heading our way in September and, if the first single off the new album is any indication, it will be sensational. The record, “You Say,”  off the new album is a song about the doubts all of us probably have from time to time or how we often fixate ourselves on worrying about what others think of us. Daigle communicates to listeners through this song that God cares for us and wants us to forget about these doubts. In the end, as Daigle sings, “the only thing that matters now is what You think of me” or how God sees us. “You Say” is a magical tune and I’m so glad I came across it.
