NMM: Suriel Hess

This week’s artist spotlight is on Suriel Hess.

Beyond having a freaking awesome name (pronounced “surreal” by the way), Hess is an exceptionally talented artist. From writing and producing his own music, to even singing his to-go orders, this guy can do it all.

The 20-year old Oregonian is known for his widely popular YouTube videos that include acoustic performances, covers, and Omegle singing reactions. Hess auditioned for the most recent season of American Idol, where I first discovered him.

Since that time, I can say that I’m totally a fan. Hess’ vocals are great, of course, but his songwriting ability is impeccable. It reaches out and transports the soul to another place. With tunes that transcend time and space, it’s no wonder Hess has garnered more than 7 million views on YouTube. Look out for him this year, folks!

Have a listen to “Parts of You” which is my favorite in Hess’ music library.
