This is something I try to tell myself, regardless of the circumstances. It’s really hard.
The past several weeks have been trying, not only for me, but for our world. With the Coronavirus hacking our everyday lives, hearing of thousands of lives being cut short and people panic buying. Schools, restaurants and bars – even March Madness – being shut down. We are living in strange and unprecedented times.
Sure, there have been pandemics and outbreaks before, but I cannot ever recall one that affected so much in our country and throughout the world. Humanity is being tested and we must act accordingly. We must come together so we can get through this together.
These things never happen at a good time. For me, my life is already crazy enough. By this time next week, I hope to be all moved in to a new house. It’s stressful to move, even if you’re moving just a couple doors down like I’ve been blessed to.
Now, with the virus closing down large gatherings, the Durham Bulls season has also been delayed indefinitely. Leaving hundreds of gameday employees with little to no recourse as far as work. Yours truly included. It’ll be interesting to see what transpires in the coming weeks but I’m already preparing myself for the real possibility of there not being a season if this continues. Hopefully, that will not be the case.
Not gonna lie, I’ve been pessimistic and doubtful when I should be optimistic and hopeful. I need to stop being selfish about my issues. As humans, however, it’s easy for us to be selfish. Easy to focus on the troubles in our own lives rather than take a step back to evaluate. I’m blessed to have family and friends who care about me, my health, a roof over my head, and food in my belly.
I just need to take a deep breath and press on. We all need to. What do you think? Let’s use this situation in a positive way. Stay safe and stay healthy. Oh, and keep the faith.
Much love, friends. 👊🏼♥️
