My Friday Five: On A Supercon Wrap-Up, ‘Dunkirk’ in 70mm & A Ticketmaster Update

1. Supercon Wrap-Up

The first ever Raleigh Supercon is in the books, wrapping on Sunday! It was, coincidentally, my first "con" of any kind and I had a blast! Just in case you missed it (or want to read it again, I won't judge), check out a story I wrote on meeting Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things at Supercon. it's definitely worth the read! Supercon is coming back in August 2018 and I'm already looking forward to it. Especially if organizers can bring back Gaten and/or some of the other cast members from the show!

My Friday Five: On Raleigh Supercon, Brent Honeywell & Art Gone Viral

1. Raleigh Supercon

This weekend is Raleigh Supercon and, for the first time ever, I'm going! There's a particular reason I'm going: I get to meet an actor from one of my favorite new shows! I'm keeping it under wraps, for now, but stay tuned to my Twitter and Instagram this weekend for more as well as right here on the blog for a full recap of my experience!

My Friday Five: On Insensitive Comments, U.S. Open & An Anniversary

1. Steve Harvey

Comedian/host, Steve Harvey, went too far with some comments he made on his radio show this week.  According to HuffPost, a man who said he was from Flint, Mich. called into Harvey's radio show to talk smack about the Cleveland Cavaliers losing to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. The caller reportedly said that Cleveland "didn't deserve jack" and Harvey, who's a Cavs fan, didn't like it too much.

My Friday Five: On ‘Idol’ Reboot News, Texting At The Movies & New Music

1. Idol Reboot News

Katy Perry is officially IN as a judge on ABC's American Idol reboot. There was quite a bit of speculation in recent days before the network made it official at its annual Upfront presentation. Perry is no stranger to the show, having been a guest judge during Season Nine. I personally like the pick as I know Perry is extremely talented and I'm sure she has the ability to discover new talent. We'll see how it goes!

My Friday Five: On A Big Mistake By CMT, The Return Of ‘Idol’ & A Twitter Record

1. Bad Move, CMT

I don't watch CMT that often. However, a new show premiered on the network that got me pretty interested. The show is Sun Records and it's based on the famous "Million Dollar Quartet" story of Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash who just happened to meet up at the Sun Records Studio and recorded together.
