It's Christmas Eve! Time for one last post featuring some old holiday tunes that have been made new again.Let's kick things off with Creigh Riepe's very cool version of "Wonderful Christmastime." I can't say the Paul McCartney's original is my favorite, but Riepe's version just may change my mind. Riepe transforms the song into a [...]
It's December, which means my favorite holiday is just around the corner! It's Christmastime boys and girls! That also means it's time for me to showcase some new Christmas music. This week's artists are no strangers to my blog, as I've featured them on a few different occasions. Daves Highway made a surprise release - [...]
1. Reunited Man, did I have a blast at the UNC game on Wednesday! I mean, I always have a good time, but this was extra special as my buddy Christian Stoinev was in town performing the halftime show again. I was stoked to learn a few months ago that he was coming back to [...]
1. I'm Back! Sorry that I've been M.I.A. the past several weeks. It's been a very busy time for me (more on that in a second) and I made the decision to move my entire website from Squarespace to WordPress. Squarespace was nice in the beginning, but I felt I could get more bang for [...]
1. Congrats, Coach Hatchell
UNC Women’s Basketball head coach, Sylvia Hatchell, became the fourth coach in Division I college basketball history to hit the 1,000 win mark on Tuesday. The 2013 Naismith Hall of Famer joined Pat Summitt, Tara VanDerveer, Mike Krzyzewski and Geno Auriemma in the 1,000-win club - with Auriemma earning a spot himself on the same day as Hatchell. I couldn't be happier for Coach Hatchell, who has garnered 728 wins in Chapel Hill after 272 victories in 11 seasons at Francis Marion, according to GoHeels.com. Here's to many more W's for her!
It's hard to believe that Christmas is upon us. For the past few years, I've made it a tradition to give back to my community - and the world at large - especially during the holiday season. I also try to choose a different cause to give to each year. A friend on Twitter mentioned about Daymaker, an organization that partners with local charities to provide much needed assistance to those who are less fortunate, primarily focusing on kids and families across the country. The organization has created a simplistic platform for people, just like you and me, to give.
1. Congrats, Luuuukkkkeeee
Big congrats to UNC’s Luke Maye, who was named ACC Player of the Week. Maye has developed into a key piece for the Heels this season, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 blocks in three recent wins for Carolina. This is Maye’s second ACC Player of the Week honor - and it’s well deserved!
