1. Remarks on Our Country
I have sat tirelessly the past few weeks and watched the Brett Kavanaugh hearings regarding his nomination to the Supreme Court. Through this, I have found that the state of our nation is bleak.
1. Thoughts on a Concert Cancellation
Hurricane Florence wreaked havoc throughout North Carolina, from real damage to shifting around countless events. One such event that piqued my curiosity was Niall Horan’s concert at Coastal Credit Union Park at Walnut Creek on Monday. Horan announced via social media on September 14 that the show was being cancelled, which really came as no surprise. What is a bit surprising is the show was never rescheduled. In my experience, most shows that are affected by weather or whatnot are eventually rescheduled. This show? No reschedule whatsoever.
The first of two appreciation posts goes to Nike. The sportswear brand announced a new “Just Do It” camapaign featuring Colin Kaepernick, the NFL quarterback who (wrongly) received much ire for kneeling during the National Anthem in protest of racial discrimination that still exists in our country.
1. Honoring John McCain
John McCain – hero, servant, patriot. It was extremely saddening to hear of his death. Although he was not perfect (none of us are), nor did I agree with his politics, I still respected him. Frankly, I believe he was one of the few good people left in our political culture. John McCain will truly be missed.
1. Tuft & Needle Merger
I found this…interesting. Tuft & Needle, the bedding company I’ve talked so positively about on my blog in the past, is merging with Serta Simmons, one of the largest bedding companies in North America.
