The first of two appreciation posts goes to Nike. The sportswear brand announced a new “Just Do It” camapaign featuring Colin Kaepernick, the NFL quarterback who (wrongly) received much ire for kneeling during the National Anthem in protest of racial discrimination that still exists in our country.
1. Honoring John McCain
John McCain - hero, servant, patriot. It was extremely saddening to hear of his death. Although he was not perfect (none of us are), nor did I agree with his politics, I still respected him. Frankly, I believe he was one of the few good people left in our political culture. John McCain will truly be missed.

A former professor and advisor of mine from N.C. State, Dr. Kim Bush, was featured on the N.C. State College of Natural Resources Instagram page this week.
1. Roy Williams Court
The University of North Carolina announced Thursday that the court inside the Dean E. Smith Center will officially be named Roy Williams Court. The honor for the hall of fame coach of the Tar Heels was inevitable but well deserved.
1. Hamilton on the Big Screen?
Could the smash Broadway musical, Hamilton, be coming to a big screen near you? According to Dave McNary of Variety, there has been a bidding war between to produce and release a large format, live performance feature of the show. McNary cited unnamed sources as telling The Wall Street Journal that the bidding reached a price of $50 million and the sellers are aiming for the recording to play in theaters and stream in 2020 or 2021. McNary also said that he recording took place in 2016, shortly before Lin-Manuel Miranda left the cast.
2020 or 2021? Well, I guess we’re just gonna have to “Wait for It.” 😜
